Usage and Synthesis

  • Chemical properties: It is an orange crystal which is precipitated from acetic acid. Appropriately dissolved in ethanol, it is red, dissolved in ether, it is brown and yellow fluorescence, dissolved in caustic lye and ammonia, it is purple.
  • Uses: Intermediates for the manufacture of vat dyes, disperse dyes and reactive dyes
